Situation: Flexural deficiencies were discovered in two 55 ft. girders due to insufficient internal
reinforcement.
Solution: Both girders received two layers of Tyfo® SCH-41 Carbon Fibrwrap along the underside
running the length of the beam.
Benefits: By using the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® System, the advantages were significant cost savings.
Completely replacing the beams was the other option considered. Speed and ease of installation
allowed for the new construction to proceed without disturbance. Major construction delays were
avoided by not removing and replacing the girders.
