A qualification test program was conducted for a Tyfo Fibrwrap System used to coat unreinforced masonry walls and panels in order to enhance their seismic strength and deformation capacities. The first phase of the program involved monotonic and cyclic testing of three conventional masonry wall specimens, two of which were coated with the Tyfo WEB & SEH-51A Systems, under out-of-plane loading. The report presents the results of this first phase describing the test conditions and performance of the walls without and with the Fibrwrapâ System. The test results show that the Tyfo WEB & SEH-51A Systems improve the cracking performance of conventional masonry walls. The systems also enhance both the strength and deformation capacities substantially. |
