Cyclic Shear Test of Multi-wythe Existing Brick Wall

This report presents the results of a cyclic testing program conducted on retrofitted unreinforced/recycled brick masonry walls. A total of three cyclic tests were conducted on the two unreinforced masonry walls in which the influence of one layer of the Tyfo SEH-51A System applied on one side of the wall was examined. One "as-built" wall was tested as the control specimen to failure. The performance of the "as-built" wall was compared to the retrofitted wall. The test results show that the single-ply Tyfo SEH-51A System overlay on one side of the wall enhanced the shear capacity and it delayed the onset of cracking of the brick wall to occur at a higher lateral load.
