Edward R. Fyfe – President & Founder
President and founder of Fyfe Company LLC. Mr. Fyfe has a Chemical Engineering degree from The University of British Columbia. In 1988, he started the very first research for the use of pre-saturated composite materials for strengthening columns. Fourteen large-scale columns were tested successfully leading to the California Department of Transportation approval of the TYFO® Fibrwrap® System. The initial tests lead to testing and application for beams, slabs, beam-column joints, walls as well as many other applications. Mr. Fyfe has more than 40 patents in the composite strengthening field. He is also the principal of Fyfe Technology Center, which conducts Research and Development.
Scott F. Arnold, P.E. – Vice President/Technical Manager
Specialty: Commercial, Residential and Municipal Buildings/Transportation Infrastructure/Water Transmission and Storage Structures
Graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering. He is a licensed civil engineer in the state of California (No. C 64169) and has been working with the Fyfe Company on the design and development of the TYFO® Fibrwrap® Systems since 1994.
Sarah Witt – Design Specialist
ACI 440 Code Committee Representative
Received her Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and her Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Colorado. While working on her Masters, Sarah also did research in the Composite Lab at UCSD. She is currently a member of the ACI 440 Committee for FRP Strengthening.
Guijun Xian, Ph.D. – Material Scientist
Fyfe Technology Center - Research and Development
Polymer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University (China) 2001. Guijun was awarded his Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering from Zhejiang University (China) 2001. In 1993, he obtained his Bachelor Degree in plastics engineering from Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology (currently, Qingdao University of Science and Technology). Prior to joining Fyfe Company, Dr. Xian worked at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) on the durability of polymers and fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites, and the development of novel nanocomposites. From 2001 to 2005, Guijun worked for the Institute for Composite Materials (IVW) at Kaiserslautern University (Germany) as an associate research scientist. Dr. Xian oversees ongoing research at Fyfe Technology Center.
Zachery I. Smith, P.E.
Vice President - Government Services Division
Specialty: Comprehensive Force Protection
Graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering he has been with Fyfe Company since 2003. He now serves as the Government Services lead for the Fyfe Company – developing blast mitigation and force protection solutions for a wide variety of projects. Mr. Smith is continually immersed in new research efforts for blast mitigation throughout North America with universities, agencies, and independent companies and encourages interested parties to contact him on the subject. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of New York.
Tomàs T. Jimenez – LEED® AP
Vice President - Waterfront Division
Graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He has been with Fyfe Company since 2005 and now serves as the Waterfront Division leader in the United States and Canada. His duties include assisting clients with FRP feasability, design, project management, and technical support. Also participates in relevant research and development projects.
Julio Sanchez – E.I.T., Project Engineer

Victor Reyes, E.I.T. - Design Engineer
Specialty: Technical Support for the Engineering Department
Graduated in 2008 from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering, focusing on civil structures. He has five years of residential construction management experience. His duties include FRP design, technical support and structural testing at various universities.
Michael McCullagh - Transportation Coordinator
Specialty: Transportation Infrastructure
Obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and has been with Fyfe Company since 2008. He now serves as the Transportation Coordinator in the United States and Canada, focusing on bridge, parking garage, railway transit, and airport projects. His responsibilities include project feasibility, FRP design, project management, technical support, and research & development.
Reymundo Ortiz - Materials Engineer

Graduated in 2009 from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Engineering. He has been with Fyfe Company since 2009. His duties include managing all current research and development projects as well as overseeing quality control for material production.
