Fyfe Company LLC, manufacturer of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Advanced Composite System, is the first externally bonded Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) systems ever used for the strengthening, repair and restoration of masonry, concrete, steel and wooden structures.

The Tyfo® fiber wrap systems are specialized carbon, glass, aramid and hybrid fabrics combined with resins which, in unique combination, create the tested and proven advanced composite system. Tyfo® Advanced Composites are used for structural strengthening, including seismic retrofit, pipe rehabilitation, structural preservation, comprehensive force protection, blast mitigation and environmental protection.

Large-scale Structural Tests Performed On Tyfo® Advanced Composites

The Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems have been tested and proven at over fifty universities and accredited private labs. Among these are structural testing, long-term durability, blast mitigation and fire-resistance studies.

Environmental durability research, simulating fifty to one-hundred years of service life, has been conducted on the unique Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Systems.

Over 500 large-scale structural tests have been performed on the Tyfo® Advanced Composites. In addition to these extensive laboratory tests, the Tyfo® Systems have performed as designed in major urban earthquakes in Taipei, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Salvador.
